History

Like any old good family business, El Allioli has a lot of history behind it.

Everything started in 1983 when Celestino decided to embark in the great adventure of opening his own business. It all started with a passion for good food and the will to start a business in the food industry. Around that time, Celestino had no experience related but thanks to his people skills and family support, specially from his father, Yayo Celestino, he made a former hostel turned restaurant to become one of the most successful and thriving catalan and grilled meat restaurants around.

A fact that will surprise our guests is the restaurant’s aesthetics: the building maintains the old hostel’s facade but inside we can find an unexpected surprise: you will feel as if you were inside a cave, even rupestrian paintings can be found.

Celestino always advocated in favor of quality above technique and that is the reason quality became the restaurant’s essence. That quality is reflected in a simple cuisine full of flavor made with fresh ingredients.

Nowadays, and thanks to the time and effort invested in finding the best suppliers, El Allioli offers a wide variety of grilled meats and cuts of the best quality. One of the stars of our menu that our guests enjoy the most when they come visit us is the 1kg grilled steak.
